Professional Golfer Tom Bean is proud to be sponsored by CF Golf and Wilson.
Having picked up a golf club at age 14 I always knew I wanted to pursue a career in golf. My younger years were spent on the football pitch, following trails at Leeds United and Leicester City, I ended up at Nottingham Forest. After being released from Nottingham Forest at age 14 I found my love for golf. I’ve always liked to be in control, within football I never felt like I was, relying on team mates and managers. With golf, you’re on your own, and I loved it.
Fast forward a few years to age 18 and I was playing as a plus figure handicap golfer and representing my county. From picking up a golf club at age 14 to achieve this within 4 years is a testament to my hard work and determination to achieve the goals I set for myself.
The next 9 years were spent competing in regional and national amateur golf tournaments until turning professional and undertaking my PGA training in October of 2019.
After turning professional the world came a holt when COVID-19 struck in March 2020 so my first season as a professional didn’t quite turn out the way I’d hoped with all tournaments cancelled and spending the majority of the year in and out of lockdowns. In my second year as a professional I was fortune enough to sign with Wilson Golf who have been a massive help thus far and I’m continually grateful to be part of their team and look forward to representing their brand in the future. With the re-introduction of tournament golf now back into my schedule after COVID I was fortunate enough to get my first professional win at Sherwood Forest in July 2021 with a bogey free score of 68.
During the winter of 2021 I was lucky to be introduced to Luke and the Team at Code Fitness, Luke has been extremely kind in looking after all of my training since joining the gym which has made a huge difference to increasing club-head speed and helping me to stay injury free throughout a hectic full schedule in my third year as a professional. Following a productive off season in the gym and on the practice ground, I was fortunate enough to get my second win as a professional in the Nottinghamshire Assistants Championship in May 2022 with a 36 hole total score of -5 winning by 5.
Having completed my PGA exams in April 2022 and finishing my coaching badges within my PGA training in September, it is my goal to continue to improve as both a player and coach to see how far I can go within this wonderful sport as part of Team CF Golfer.
